Greece:
In the first Olympia games the sprint was the only event and they played naked. Other sports as time went on was boxing, wrestling, throwing disk, horse racing, and the jumps. Most of the characteristics of these sports was speed, strength, and skill. The rules were pretty basic no different from what they are in today's time. These games were set up for entertainment to see who was the best in speed, strength, and skill. The people of higher power also came to see blood and blood is what they got. As for who could participate it was open to anyone so you can come in and become a hero for your family and win a lot of money and respect.
Rome:
The sport of Rome is to fight as Gladiators, in war against one another until one is still standing. The structure of it is to make it through the fight with out dying. They spend there days up until the fights training in other to be the last one standing. These soldiers are picked in order to entertain the higher power buy killing one another.
